VeVa Design is the name under which I provide marketing, graphic and web design services as freelance. My name is Jan Kasal and I am registered with the Nassau County clerk (New York). I received BA in graphic design at the School of Graphic Design in Prague, Czech Republic. I have been using computers since my university studies at Aix-en-Provence, France, (1991) and during my stay at a local publishing house Editions de l’Aube. In 1992, I enrolled in computer classes at the La Guardia Community College in Queens, NY, and improved my design skills.

After a short engagement (1993) at PrintMasters in New Jersey, I launched my freelance career. I broadened my range of skills by working on marketing projects for companies in diverse fields. I brought my best to, and also learned the corporate culture from, such well-known firms as The McGraw-Hill Companies, Direct Marketing Association (now Data MA), URS (now AECOM), Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Bowne Services (now RR Donnelley), to name just few.

I oversee the assigned projects from concept to delivery, collaborate with staff, as well as vendors, establish schedule and dependencies. I design promotional, marketing publications such as brochures, advertisements, product/service sheets, service proposals, catalogs, postcards, email blasts, corporate newsletters, book layouts. I typeset multilingual publications, proofread Czech (mother tongue). I work on a freelance basis and am available. I also design various marketing publications for non-profit organization as my pro bono service to the community or charities of my choice.

I am involved in our community as a track coach for CYO to children from kindergarten to 8th grade. I was elected as president of Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation, a non-profit organization that sponsors local youth programs from proceeds raised annually by Malverne 5K.
